Allyn Griffin was an all-state athlete for multiple years in football, basketball, baseball, and track and field at Kelly Walsh High School in Casper, Wyoming. He led teams to multiple-year state titles in basketball his senior year in high school, Griffin and his teammates won Wyoming state titles in all four of the sports in which he participated.

After turning away several basketball offers Griffin attended the University of Wyoming on a football scholarship where he set receiving records during his time at Wyoming. Following a stellar collegiate career Allyn was drafted by the Detroit Lions of the National Football League where his career was shortened due to injuries.

Coach Griffin’s high school coaching career began in 1999 at a private residential boarding school near Prescott, Washington, where he led teams to multiple post season opportunities in basketball, coached the state champion 4×100 meter relay team in track, and coached the Jubilee football team to the state finals at the Tacoma Dome in 2003. Griffin’s many athletic accomplishments also include being selected as one of Sports Illustrated top 50 athletes of the millennium from the state of Wyoming and the Washington Coaches Association 2B Coach of the Year in 2003.
