At home, Hanford dropped its season home opener to Auburn Riverside 69-38.

Grace Francis scored 10 points after being held scoreless in the first quarter, to lead the Falcons. It was Matt Kincaid’s first game as head coach for Hanford.

Hanford at Lewiston

Reece Rheinschmidt poured in half of Hanford’s offensive effort, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Lewiston (Idaho) as the Falcons dropped its season opener 71-64 on the road.

Rheinschmidt was the only Falcon in double-digit scoring with his 32 points. Lewiston had a strong second quarter, outscoring the Falcons by nine points and took a 39-32 lead into the locker room at the half, which it was able to hold onto in the second half.

Mead at Southridge

Southridge dropped its season opener to the Mead Panthers 45-63 in Kennewick.

The Suns held at two-point advantage after the first quarter, but the Panthers were able to outscore Southridge 16-8 in the second quarter and never looked back. Jose Tijerina scored 13 points and was 4×4 from the free-throw line to lead the Suns. Nick Williamson added 10 points in the effort.
